TRACKER PRO 1.1 REFERENCE

Gestures and shortcuts

Touch gestures and hardware keyboard shortcuts for playing and editing.

Use touch to edit the selected step, or connect a hardware keyboard to enter notes and move through rows. Stop playback for the first try, select the intended track and check WRITE before pressing a note key.

Tap means touch and release; hold means keep touching until the menu opens. Most editing gestures form one Undo step.

R3.1Touch controls

Gesture Result
Tap a value in FULL or COMPACT with the pencil on Opens its editor; an empty note field inserts and auditions a note.
Tap a grid cell with Pencil off Moves the cursor.
Hold a cell, then choose Selection actions Opens the block-editing sheet.
Drag a knob vertically Changes its value. Slide sideways during the drag for finer control.
Tap a supported knob or numeric cell Opens numeric entry. Typed values wait for APPLY.
Double-tap a supported knob Restores its default value.
Swipe the device rack sideways Scrolls through devices.
Drag a device handle Reorders that effect.
Drag a panel divider Resizes neighboring panels; dragging beyond their minimum can close one.
Pinch the waveform Zooms around the fingers.
Drag the waveform with two fingers Scrolls, including in PROCESS.
Drag the waveform with one finger in PROCESS Selects audio to process.
Double-tap the waveform Fits the loop or slice under the finger, or the whole sample. In PROCESS, fits the processing region.

ZOOM's note inspector needs WRITE on to change notes. Its separate AUTOMATION > WRITE button stores one automation point; it does not toggle note entry.

To try REPEAT, enter a note with WRITE on, let ADVANCE move to the next row, then tap REPEAT. It enters the last note or chord again and advances once. It is separate from the RET command, which retriggers a written note during playback.

R3.2Play and write

Key Action
Space Start or stop playback.
Shift + Space Open SONG and play from the selected song row.
Escape Toggle WRITE.
Z X C V B N M Play C D E F G A B in the lower keyboard octave.
S D G H J Play the lower octave's sharps.
Q W E R T Y U Play the next octave's natural notes.
2 3 5 6 7 Play the next octave's sharps.
[ and ] Lower or raise the keyboard octave.
< and > Lower or raise ADVANCE. On a US layout, use Shift with comma or period.
Backtick, § or ± With WRITE on, write OFF and advance. With WRITE off, silence sounding notes.

Typing keys are chromatic even when the on-screen keys use a scale. With WRITE off they audition unless live recording is active. With WRITE on each note advances independently; set ADVANCE to OFF to build a chord on one row. Live recording places input at the playhead and captures key-held length.

The Tone note on row 000 has LENGTH set to GATE 480. Its velocity is 100 and its offset is zero.

R3.4Panels and waveform

Command + 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 toggle TRACKER, DEVICES, SONG, MIX and KEYS. While the waveform editor is open, its workspace replaces the other panels; KEYS can still be toggled.

With a slice marker selected in the waveform editor, Left / Right nudges it one frame. Shift changes the nudge to 10 milliseconds. Option jumps to a neighboring zero crossing. These arrows edit the marker instead of moving the grid cursor.

The top-right ... > HOTKEY REFERENCE opens the searchable in-app shortcut list. Shortcuts follow the characters on your keyboard layout, so the physical position of a note key can differ between layouts.
