TRACKER PRO 1.1 USER GUIDE

Keep your work

Understand project copies, embedded audio, autosave, recovery and transfer.

A .dtproj package keeps editable patterns, song rows, instruments, loaded samples and plug-in state. Files shows the package as one item. Keep the complete item together when copying or moving a project.

10.1What travels with a project

Loading a sample gives the project its own audio. Editing that copy does not rewrite the library original, and moving the original does not remove the loaded sound. A linked library folder keeps its external files in place until you load or copy them.

Audio Unit settings travel with the project; the plug-in installation does not. Install the same plug-in on the receiving iPad, or export its part as audio.

  1. Files or LibrarySource sounds
  2. Load a copyA sample inside the project
  3. Save .dtprojNotes, sounds and settings
  4. Export audioWAV mix or Tracks ZIP
Saving a project keeps its notes, samples and settings together. Exporting writes a separate audio file.

10.2Save a named version

Start with the project you want to keep open. Stop playback before checking the saved version.

  1. Tap the project name at the top left, then SAVE. When there are no pending edits, this item reads SAVE (SAVED).
  2. To keep the current version and continue in a new one, choose SAVE AS... from the same menu.
  3. Enter a name such as Guide Mix 01, then tap Save. The new copy becomes the open project; the previous package remains on disk.
  4. Open project name > OPEN.... Check the name and package filename under This project.

New projects and SAVE AS copies normally go to Files > On My iPad > Tracker Pro. The Projects panel shows that location for local packages. For a package opened elsewhere, it shows Opened from Files; subsequent saves update that external package.

Projects shows the current package, its sample count and saved projects. Rename, Save copy and Share act on this project.

10.3Put a copy in another folder

  1. Open project name > OPEN... to show Projects.
  2. Under This project, tap Save copy.
  3. Choose a destination in Files and complete the save. Tracker Pro opens that copy, so later edits belong to it.
  4. Return to Projects and check the filename. Use Browse Files whenever you need to open a package from another location.

Duplicate in a saved project's ellipsis menu creates a sibling copy without switching the open project. Use it when you want another local version but intend to keep working in the current one.

10.4Reopen and share

  1. Save, then open Projects. Tap another project's cover to open it, or use Browse Files.
  2. Return to Projects and open the saved exercise again. Check a pattern, its sounds and the song order.
  3. Save once more before sharing. Under This project, tap Share to open the system share sheet.
  4. On the receiving iPad, open the complete .dtproj through Browse Files and check its sounds.

The cover's ellipsis menu also offers Rename…, Share…, Show in Files and Delete…. Delete is disabled for the open project. Deleting a package also deletes the samples inside it and cannot be reversed with project Undo.

10.5Recover pending or damaged work

EDITED beside the project name means changes are waiting to save; SAVING means a write is running. Edits autosave after a short pause. If SAVE BLOCKED appears, read the error, resolve its destination or storage issue, then try SAVE again. A failed prerequisite save prevents a switch to another project.

Recovery generations live inside the same package. Tracker Pro may reopen an older readable generation or offer Recover Project? when the current one is damaged. These are not independent backups; use Save copy to keep one elsewhere.

Undo history belongs to the session and can be cleared by opening another project, quitting or memory pressure. Save separate versions for changes you may want to revisit later.

If Projects reports missing samples, restore the named files and reopen, or replace those samples before saving. If a project requires a newer app, update to a compatible version. See files and formats for storage and recovery limits.
