Export makes audio from a pattern or arrangement. Use a master WAV for listening, Tracks ZIP for separate mix parts, or share the .dtproj when the other person needs editable Tracker Pro notes and sounds.
11.1Choose the range
Start with a saved project. To export the eight-bar exercise, first check its order in SONG.
- Tap the top-right ellipsis > EXPORT.
- Under SCOPE, choose PATTERN for one pass of the pattern open in the tracker, or SONG for the whole arrangement.
- For part of a song, choose SECTION, then select the named section from the SECTION menu.
- Check the explanation below the controls. It describes the selected range before you render.
SELECTION renders the selected row range of the open pattern across all tracks. Without a block selection, that range is the cursor row. Selecting only one track in a block does not isolate it for this export. Use track bounce when you want to turn an individual track into a new sampler instrument.
11.2Choose a mix or separate parts
- Select MASTER WAV to include the full mix, returns and master processing in one stereo file.
- Select TRACKS ZIP instead when you need separate stereo files for each track and shared return. The files have the same start and duration. Track effects, fader, pan and dry routing are printed; master processing is excluded.
- Under WAV FORMAT, choose 24-BIT for a regular mix, 16-BIT for a smaller integer file, or 32-BIT FLOAT for further processing with extra headroom.
- Check RATE 48 kHz. The sampler's Rate control affects its playback sound, not the export rate.
To rebuild a stem mix in another app, place every file at the same starting point. Include the separate return files once. Master effects are absent, so the combined result may need the master processing you used in Tracker Pro.
11.3Check tails and plug-ins
Held notes are released at the musical endpoint. Their releases and effects continue into a tail, so the exported file can be longer than the selected bars. Ordinary projects allow up to ten seconds of tail; active Ambient Reverb can allow up to 120 seconds. Sound remaining at the limit fades out.
When Audio Units are loaded, the export panel also offers FAST and REAL TIME. Start with FAST. If the rendered file drops notes or crackles, select REAL TIME and export again. This takes the duration of the music and tail; keep Tracker Pro open until it finishes. Restore an unavailable plug-in before rendering its part.
MIDI Out does not send notes during export. Record the external instrument's audio into the project first if it must appear in the file.
