TRACKER PRO 1.1 REFERENCE

Step commands

Every available step command, with ranges, note scope and timing rules.

Use this reference after trying a command on one note. Its range tells you what to enter; its scope tells you which notes or controls will change.

R1.1Enter and remove a command

  1. Stop playback, select FULL and turn on the pencil button.
  2. Find the note to change and tap an empty FX slot after its velocity. The picker groups commands into STOP, TIME, PITCH, SOUND and FLOW.
  3. Choose a command. Its value editor opens immediately. For example, RET starts with HITS 4 and GAP 30.
  4. Close the editor and play the pattern. Reopen the filled slot to adjust it. CHANGE chooses another command; REMOVE empties the slot.

The picker only offers commands available for that step's instrument. Use ZOOM to reach all eight FX slots together.

R1.2Read command values

One beat is 480 ticks, independent of tempo or rows per beat. At four rows per beat, 120 ticks is one row. 30, 60, 120, 240 and 480 ticks correspond to a 64th, 32nd, 16th, eighth and quarter note.

ABSOLUTE sets a value; RELATIVE moves from the instrument's setting. Cell text uses = for absolute values and a sign for relative ones: VOL=80, TUN+7. Each step holds up to eight distinct commands. Moving a command between slots does not change its behavior.

The ZOOM screenshot has eight empty FX slots. Tap a slot to choose a command; LENGTH GATE 480 above them belongs to the note.

The Tone note on row 000 has LENGTH set to GATE 480. Its velocity is 100 and its offset is zero.

R1.3Stop

Command Values What it does
OFF None Releases all active notes on the track through their instrument release.
FAD 1 to 1920 ticks Fades active notes to silence over the chosen time. Default: 120 ticks.
CUT None Stops active voices immediately. Effects may still ring.

An exit replaces the notes on its step. A new note entered there replaces the exit. CUT takes precedence over FAD, and FAD over OFF. On MIDI OUT and Audio Unit tracks, OFF and CUT send note-off; FAD is unavailable.

R1.4Time

Command Values What it does
RET 2 to 8 hits; gap 1 to 120 ticks Repeats the step's notes. The first hit counts. RET4/30 means four hits, 30 ticks apart.
DLY -120 to +120 ticks Moves the step earlier or later. Replaces swing and groove for this row.
GAT 1 to 7680 ticks, up to 16 beats Overrides each starting note's length. Default: 120 ticks. Every RET or ARP hit gets the same gate.
ARP UP, DOWN, RANDOM or ORDER; gap 1 to 120 ticks Spreads a chord's notes into successive starts. ORDER follows entry order.

GAT schedules note release, not necessarily silence: the instrument can have a release tail. A One shot sampler ignores this timed gate; an explicit OFF, FAD or CUT can still end it. Looping samples also have their own note-off behavior.

DLY at zero makes a step straight even inside a swung pattern. A negative delay cannot play before transport start. With ARP and RET together, each strummed note gets its own retriggers.

R1.5Pitch

Command Values What it does
GLD 1 to 1920 ticks Slides a held note in the same note column into the new pitch. Without a held note, it starts normally.
TUN -48 to +48 semitones Transposes the step without changing its written pitches. Relative or absolute.
PSL -2400 to +2400 cents per beat Bends sounding track notes until the next row, then holds the pitch reached.
FIN -100 to +100 cents Fine-tunes new notes. Relative or absolute.

GLD's CONNECT PREVIOUS NOTE extends a previous gate when needed. Repeat PSL on later rows to keep a bend moving. One semitone is 100 cents; one octave is 1200 cents.

R1.6Sound

Command Values What it does
SLI Slice 1 to 48 Chooses a sampler slice for new notes, preserving their pitch. The slice must exist.
POS Absolute 0 to 100%; relative -100 to +100% Changes where new notes start inside the sample or slice.
FLT Absolute 0 to 100%; relative -100 to +100% Changes sampler filter cutoff for one row.
PAN -100 to +100% Sets or offsets stereo placement for one row. Negative is left.
SNA Absolute 0 to 100%; relative -100 to +100% Moves Sound A for one row: sampler start, Macro timbre, Resonator structure or GrainOSC scan.
SNB Absolute 0 to 100%; relative -100 to +100% Moves Sound B for one row: sampler filter morph, Macro morph, Resonator brightness or GrainOSC shape.
MAC Macro 1 to 8; absolute 0 to 100% or relative -100 to +100% Sets a track macro for one row.
RND 0 to 100% Varies each new note's velocity above or below its written value.
VOL Absolute 0 to 100%; relative -100 to +100 points Sets new-note level, or slides it by the relative amount over one beat.
REV AS SLICED or FLIP Keeps the sample or slice direction, or flips it for this hit.

FLT, PAN, SNA, SNB and MAC return to their base or automated value at the next row. Repeat the command to hold its value longer. SLI, POS, TUN, FIN, RND, VOL and REV affect notes started by their step, including its strummed or retriggered notes.

RND in an FX slot varies velocity. A RND sample or slice target is a separate choice in the note's sampler-target menu.

R1.7Flow

Command Values What it does
CHN 0 to 100% Plays the whole step with that probability. 100 always plays; 0 never does.
NTH Every 1 to 16 loops Plays only on every Nth pass. NTH4 plays on passes 4, 8 and 12.
GRV TRACK GROOVE or project groove 1 to 16 Changes the track's groove from this row onward.
HOP -127 to +127 rows, excluding 0 Jumps within this track, wrapping inside its length. Other tracks continue.
TBL Project table 1 to 16 Runs a project table on newly triggered notes, alongside the instrument table.

NTH is checked before CHN. When they skip a step, its notes and commands are skipped too, except HOP. CHN, RND and random ARP use repeatable draws when playback starts from the same point.

GRV appears after creating a project groove. Its selection returns to the track setting at pattern entry, a seek or transport restart. TBL appears after creating a project table. TPO is not an available step command in this guide's release; use project or song-row tempo.

R1.8Instrument and table scope

OFF, CUT, RET, DLY, GAT, ARP, TUN, MAC, RND, CHN, NTH and HOP work across instrument types. FAD, GLD, PSL, FIN, PAN, VOL, SNA and SNB are for the built-in audio instruments. POS, FLT and REV are sampler commands; SLI also requires slices. The picker can hide commands when a step targets incompatible instruments.

Tables support OFF, FAD, CUT, GAT, TUN, PSL, FIN, SLI, POS, VOL, REV and HOP. In a table, OFF, FAD and CUT end the note running that table, rather than every note on the track. A timed table advances over time; an Each Note table advances with note triggers. Start with a short two-row pitch or volume change, then listen before adding another command.
