A useful sound before the first cable.
Play the normalled signal path, shape the oscillators and filter, then patch one connection at a time. Choose MK1 or MK2 modules to change the voice's behavior without rebuilding the whole instrument.
Give each part its own movement.
Add modulation and envelope units, route their outputs, and change a cable's amount or polarity. The arpeggiator and sequencer turn a held note or a short pattern into a phrase.
Let the patch continue into the effects.
Combine spring reverb with Delay and Grains. Freeze a granular texture, send it through echoes, or place effects in parallel. Your module choices, connections and effect routing return with the saved patch.
Inspired by the patchable, East Coast synthesis tradition of Moog instruments. SM-1 combines its own module families and digital effects in one instrument.
