Accounts and activation.

What the licence service uses

When you create a Dubspot account, we store your email address, account name and a hashed password. The same account holds your course access and plug-in licences. Purchases record the product, payment reference, amount, currency and payment status. Stripe processes payments; the plug-ins do not receive your payment-card details.

Activation sends the selected product, a hashed computer identifier and the computer label you choose. The service records issued licences, active computers, activation dates and licence-management actions. Trial history is retained to prevent repeated trials on the same computer. These records provide licence delivery, the three-computer limit, recovery and support.

What the plug-in keeps locally

The plug-in stores its signed licence file on your computer and verifies it locally. A perpetual licence does not require a periodic online check. Browser sign-in takes place on the Dubspot website; your account password is not entered into or saved by the plug-in.

The desktop plug-ins do not send your audio, MIDI, presets or DAW sessions to the licence service. An offline activation request carries product and computer information, a creation time and a random request value; it does not contain audio or a password.

Support and requests

If you email support or use our support form, we use your contact details, description and optional setup information to investigate and reply. Support tickets store a status, priority and private administrative notes. Requests submitted while signed in are linked to that account. The ticket inbox is restricted to the verified support administrator. Hashed email and connection identifiers are used to limit abuse of the form.

Contact admin@dubspot.com to ask about your account information or request correction or deletion. Some payment and licence records may need to be retained to administer purchases and prevent abuse.

The iPhone/iPad edition of EQP1 does not use this desktop licence service. Its separate mobile privacy policy describes local operation.
