Francis Preve (Different Pieces, Toolroom, Armada) Francis' first workshop will talk about sound design and sampling. Specifically, he will show the process of creating a variety of instruments, including drums, from a single sample chosen by the audience, and finally constructing a coherent groove from the creations.

Michael Hatsis (Track Team Audio, Dubspot) - One of Dubspot's newest Ableton certified instructors, Michael Hatsis will demonstrate how to create earth-shattering bass sounds in Live's operator synth. From huge Dubstep wobbles, to minimal techno sub basses, Mike will detail how to program and organize these creations, and give your songs some unique low end definition.

Jon Margulies (Heatercore, Hobotech, Dubspot) DJ, producer, teacher and author Jon Margulies will draw on his abundant knowledge base (he authored the Live 7 & 8 Power books) to detail various automation and tuning strategies in Ableton, that will help clean up the soundstage, and harmonize a producer's compositions.

Daniel Wyatt (Sonica Media, Atlantic) - Multi-platinum sound engineer Daniel Wyatt, will cover the techniques that make ordinary mixes sound extraordinary. That differentiate between what is just a cool composition and a commercially ready master... a world-class sounding track with a clean-soundstage, precise EQing, and razor sharp highs, mids and lows.

Jim Rivers (Misfit) - This very special workshop will feature one of the most respected young DJ/producers in the world. Jim uses Ableton for a couple key functions: as a creative launch pad, a looping utility, and for creating studio mixes. Discussing all these, he will be bringing along the Ableton project he used to create his Global Underground mix, as well as some new songs he is working on, and also demonstrate how to rewire the program into other DAWs.

Barry Cole (Spot Music, Blue Mountain Publishing) - As the music supervisor for over 60 films and manager of a publishing catalog with over 15,000 songs from Bob Marley to Justice, Barry knows the biz inside and out. This workshop will discuss a variety 21st Century industry issues, including royalties, licensing, digital distribution and more.

w/ DJ Kiva (Adios Babylon, Dubspot) - Dubspot instructor DJ Kiva will give a step-by-step examination of the process for creating and customizing Ableton sets for a DJ or Live P.A. style performance. Going from a blank template to a fully controllable, ready for the stage setup.

Christopher Willits (Ghostly, 12k, Overlap) - Chris will present a variety of ideas and techniques around the use and evolution of guitar signal processing, in addition to software tools Ableton Live and Max/MSP/Jitter, plus a special preview of Max for Live.

Pailo (Out of the Bag, Walking Stick Worldwide, TXP) - Joseph Cerimeli, aka Pailo, will be describing a variety of options for creating loops on the fly during a live performance. Covering the use and integration of hardware sythesizers as well as Ableton's built in instruments, this presentation will discuss both MIDI and sample based looping techniques.

Francis Preve (Different Pieces, Toolroom, Armada) Francis Preve has performed DJ sets around the world, all using Ableton Live. This presentation will cover some outside the box strategies for programming and performing with the program, including effects, control, and more.
